A research organization with roots at Lund University

Over ten years of research form the foundation for the AI models we use to improve mental health.

To reduce mental illness worldwide

Ablemind (WordDiagnostics AB) was founded by Katarina Kjell, Oscar Kjell and Sverker Sikström in Lund, Sweden in September 2019, with the aim of developing a product based on the results of over ten years of research at Lund University.

Our ambition was to develop technology that helps caregivers in the important diagnostic process and follow-up of mental health care.

In the spring of 2020, we scaled up and brought in the first investments to reach the Swedish market in the end of that year.

Our first product, the Patient Report initially targets healthcare providers in Sweden, to offer effective decision support in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.

Mental illness accounts for 48% of all sick leave and every third woman and every fourth man suffers from depression at some point in their life. The global cost of these diseases are estimated to €2.1 trillion in 2020, expected to reach €5 trillion in 2030.

Next to climate change, mental health is the most pressing global problem to solve.
